Keepers: Ahman Green and Donovan McNabb.
What a difference a year makes. Last year, Kiss had arguably the best keepers. The two of them led Rich to one of
the highest scoring teams last year. This year, Green isn’t even considered a top 10 RB anymore and McNabb is
not considered a top QB in the same company and Peyton and Culpepper. Still both players are good plays.
Grade: B+

Draft:
QB: Eli Manning and Kyle Boller.
The only team to hold 3 QB’s on his roster. Eli could have a decent season and makes a nice keeper candidate.
Boller could surprise people now that he has some decent offensive weapons, but in all likelihood his ass will be
available on the waiver wire by week 3. Still, makes no sense to hold three QB’s especially when McNabb rarely
misses a game.
Grade: C+

RB: Carnell Williams, Frank Gore, and Najeh Davenport.
Cadillac has the best name of the rookies. Hopefully, he has the best stats. At least he’s better than Ronnie Brown.
Plus, he’s a better keeper option. Frank Gore could see playing time later in the season if/when Barlow falters
and/or the 49ers are winless and have nothing to play for but the future. Najeh is nice insurance for Ahman Green
and also a constant participant in trade rumors.
Grade: B

WR: Laveranues Coles, Braylon Edwards, Ashley Lelie, Antwaan Randle-El, and Mark Clayton.
Coles is the potential league leader in receptions (btw, my Coles argument against this new receptions rule was
outstanding). He’s not a true #1 receiver, but thanks to the extra points per reception rule, add in the fact that he
was reunited with Pennington (with whom he had his best season) and that makes him a decent #1 fantasy receiver.
Edwards was taken a bit too early. There is no doubt he will be the man in years to come, but not this year. Just look
at the history of first receivers taken in the draft (Fitzgerald, Rodgers). Lelie is coming off his best season, but is still
inconsistent. However, he is slowly overtaking Rod Smith as the man in Denver. Randle-El could have a great
season as he attempts to take over for Plaxico Burress. Mark Clayton could be this year Michael Clayton.
Grade: B-

TE: Ben Troupe.
I personally love this guy. You may think he was taken too high, but several people had them on their ‘want’ list. It’s
been said that he is this year’s Antonio Gates. I believe the hype. Why, you ask? Two words…………..Norm Chow.
Enough said.
Grade: B+

K: Sebastion Janikowski.
A guy who could benefit from the new and improved Oakland offense. Throw in the fact that the guy can kick 50
yarders like no one else in the business and he could be this year’s number one kicker.
Grade: B+

DEF: Carolina.
Julius Peppers is a one man wrecking machine. The addition of Ken Lucas only makes them even more dangerous.
Grade: B+

Best Draft Pick: Ben Troupe
Worst Draft Pick: Braylon Edwards

Team Strengths: QB
Team Weaknesses: WR (and another question mark at RB)

Key to Success: Carnell Williams. Is he this year’s rookie RB that shines or does he lose his job to Michael
Pittman. Odds are he’ll be somewhere in between. But if he’s isn’t an adequate #2 RB, then Rich has
nobody else to turn too.

Overall Grade: B
