I apologize for the crap that I’ve been posting lately. Been busy with some side projects. But I still felt it was my
responsibility to submit something for Marc, Parker, Jason, and whoever else accidentally clicks on the wrong link.
So I write during lunch while eating.

Theme of the Week: “Patience pays off” and “Key injuries”

Born to Run My Mouth
Pennington’s injury will hurt Coles. Kris Jenkins injury hurts the Carolina defense. But those young guns you got on
your bench look promising. Eli Manning, Braylon Edwards, and Frank Gore look like 3 potential keepers for next
year. Oh yea, I forgot about Cadillac. Best drafted RB so far, without question.

5 Second Stare
LT finally showed up big time. He practically single handedly beat Jarrett (ok, exaggeration). Too bad you can’t save
some of those 168 points for future weeks. If my memory serves me correct, that’s got to be one of the top 2 or 3
scores in ROFFL history (I think Rich had 169 last year and I know Josh had a game in the 160’s as well).

One more random thought on Jay. Travis Taylor was a great pickup. He reminds me of Nate Burleson’s situation last
year. The #1 receiver on the Vikings gets hurt (Moss last year, Burleson this year) and one of the many backups
have to step up. The reason why I brought it up is b/c Jay picked up Burleson last year when Steve Smith went down
with an injury. This year Javon Walker goes down and he picks up Travis Taylor. Like I said, the man just finds a
way to win. He’s still only average looking though; I don’t care what the title of his column is called.

Shermtank
I know you’re starting to get worried about J. Lewis and Peyton, but I think you’re just going to have to wait it out.
Peyton has a great schedule until he faces the Pats in week 9. Finishing 7-3 these last 10 weeks is not out of the
question. That may be what it takes for you to make the playoffs. But Michael Bennett had bust written all over him
the minute you proclaimed he was your keeper for next year. You need to hope he gets traded to Arizona like the
rumors are saying.

Brock’s Bandits
Be cool man. Let the games finish. The fantasy world is not against you by having one of the opposing players have
a career or bounce back game (Chicago D in week 2, Daunte in week 3). You still won both games by 2+ points and
sit in second place looking golden for the playoffs. Got to love Shaun Alexander’s 4 TD’s. But that means he’ll have
a few games where he has zero TD’s coming up. Isaac Bruce’s injury could mean more big games for Torry Holt. But
I’d be worried about the Bills defense now that Takeo Spikes is out.

Nose
The September winning streak was bound to end. Thanks to Rex Grossman’s injury, Kyle Orton starts, but he looks
like bad news for Muhammed’s stats. Kurt Warner going down means Josh McCown steps in and he’s bad news for
Anquan Boldin. Pennington’s injury could have a negative effect on the defense, since they may have to be on the
field more. But Carson Palmer looks like the real deal and Drew Bledsoe looks like he’s 10 years younger. Jarrett
has two of the best QB’s in the league.

New Jersey Jacobins
The win streak and the 120-point weeks had to end sometime. It’s obvious the NY Giants Defense is not as good as
the first two weeks showed. Just got to hope for the right matchups. However, the rest of your team is marked by
consistency. Brees, Bennett, Droughns will give you the same production each week. Basically as Moss, Barber,
and Gonzalez go, so does your team (obvious point). This week none of them came up big for you.

Colt 45’s
What a stirring way to come back and win on Monday night, on a major bye week for most of your players
nonetheless. The receptions rule really came through for you and Eddie Kennison. The Travis Henry suspension
means Chris Brown is once again the man. Coming from experience, he has the talent to put up 150 yards and 2 TD’
s. But he’ll miss some games. Just hope you get the former for these next four weeks rather than the later. The
quarterback situation would scare me a bit since both Favre and Losman look turnover prone this year. But Troy
Williamson could really benefit from Burleson’s injury and Chad Johnson is making a case for being the #1 fantasy
receiver this year.

Nomads in the Deep
The champ is making his case for repeat. He has arguably the best receiving core (from one through five). Steve
Smith is amazing. Everyone knows Delhomme is throwing to him, yet he still manages 11 catches and 3 TD’s. He
could league the league in receptions. Arnez Battle is looking like a late round steal. Holmes/LJ had a bad week and
Holmes hasn’t looked great all season. Hasselbeck is playing a good pro game, but that doesn’t always translate
into fantasy. I like Navid’s whole team, but I think his biggest problem will be figuring out whom to play each week. Do
you go with Driver or Clayton? Davis or Dunn? It’s not a bad option to have, but it can get frustrating.

Duckville Quackers
After his connections at Yahoo tried giving him a week two victory, his team proved that he doesn’t need their help.
Pennington going down means this is Plummer’s team. He’ll have to pick up a backup QB though. Might I suggest
Brooks Bollinger? Who better to have the QB with a porn star name, than the league resident porno star? Rodney
Harrison going down could mean bad things for the Pats D (although Belicheck will probably just suit up Corey Dillon
to play safety and he’ll get 2 INT’s a game). Mewelde Moore (over 100 yards) is taking the starting job like many of
us predicted. Look for ‘Moore’ of that in the coming weeks. But who would have thought that out of his incredible
starting WR’s, Keenan McCardell would be the #1.

Brick Walls and Trees
The only undefeated team left standing. He also has the highest scoring team in the league. In other words, there is
nowhere else to go but down. However, I’ll say it right now. In our scoring league format, I’d rather have Brian
Westbrook than any RB not named LaDanian Tomlinson and Shaun Alexander. The Indy Defense has been putting
up better fantasy numbers than Peyton Manning. Bulger may not be the best QB in reality, but in fantasy who cares
if he gets sacked a million times. He still puts up 300 yards a game. Still waiting for Reggie Wayne to breakout. Only
problem I see for Scott is his bench is going down the toilet. Warner is hurt. Henry is suspended. Jones doesn’t do
enough. Jacobs is TD or nothing. But I’d still kill for Scott’s starting lineup.

Married with Ravens
His team is much better than his record shows. Daunte Culpepper finally showed some life. He won’t put up 3 TD’s a
game (it was against New Orleans defense after all), but he won’t throw 5 INT’s a game either. Something in the
middle will be the norm. Good enough to start, but far from last year. His receivers have been great. Jackson hasn’t
dropped as many passes. Burress is starting to mesh with Eli. Fitzgerald was on the brink of having a breakout
season, but may take a hit with Josh McCown under center. He has arguably the best RB’s (one through three) of
any team in our league. Thomas Jones is making people forget about Cedric Benson. Willie Parker had a bad day
finally, but he’s still the starter; and Willis is Willis. His two major weaknesses are TE and Defense. Dallas Clark has
done nothing yet and the Dallas secondary is horrible.

Baltimore Tools
Marc never gets credit for his team. Guess it’s hard to make people forget when you had the worst record in years
past. But Roethlisberger looks to be the better play than Marc’s prized keeper Trent Green (watch he makes the
switch and Green throws 300 yards and 4 TD’s, while Big Ben throws 150 with 1 TD and 1 INT). Jimmy Smith has
been the ageless wonder. Roy Williams and Santana Moss will be inconsistent, but every other week or so, they’ll
have a big game. Curtis Martin may suffer the most from the injury of Pennington. Now teams will just stack 8 in the
box to stop the run. Martin has yet to crack 100 yards or score a TD. Thank god for Edge and the suddenly run
happy Indy Colts offense.

propoganda
I feel for Nick. The man was at a disadvantage not being at the draft, but he’s looking at his third consecutive losing
season if he doesn’t turn things around quickly. Yet that hasn’t stopped him from talking trash about every
opponent and you got to love him for that. His team isn’t bad. Just full of underachievers. Deuce, Davis, Vick,
Vanderjagt, Baltimore D all have been disappointments so far and each can be attributed to their teams’ struggles.
Gates showed last year wasn’t a fluke, but Nick is still reeling from not having him in his lineup in week one. If Isaac
Bruce’s injury is serious, then it damages an already suspect WR core since he was the sole consistent producer. I
wouldn’t overlook his team though. He’ll surprise you one week.

Final Thought
I left out my team because who cares.

Lastly, because I like to copy all things Jay does.

My top ten movies I wish I wrote
