The spread on this week’s matchup between elite columnists Jay Cantor and yours truly is .04. I’m taking myself to
cover with the spread.

I also cannot put myself down in this week’s column because I’m running out of put-downs allowed for the year and
its only week seven. I worked out a deal with Jay, and if I say nice things about myself I get a put-down back. So, this
column will be filled with sporadic nice random thoughts about your favorite writer/columnist.

Some truly random thoughts:
1.        I miss The Dave Chappelle Show.

2.        So far in the new TV show season, My Name Is Earl and Everybody Hates Chris are pretty good shows.

3.        I miss fantasy football leagues where 75% of the league members don’t pay attention to the league and I only
have to compete with a few people. I usually win those. I just won my fantasy baseball league because it was similar
to that. The winnings from that should cover this year’s fantasy football expenses.

4.        The foot appears to not be broken. Just fractured. Recovery time is still 2-3 weeks away. So, not as bad as
originally thought. I plan on being back on the field in 3 or 4 Sundays. This time I’m bringing backup and I’m going to
prove I am deserving of my first round fantasy draft selection. So Josh, Nick, Marc, Jason, Dave, Brock, Navid, and
Scott……I will make you regret your decision to pass on me.

5.        What happened to Tom Hanks and Will Ferrell’s career choices?
            a.        Tom Hanks – ‘Ladykillers’ and ‘The Terminal’. Huh? Good thing he go the role of Robert Langdon in
‘The Davinci Code’.
            b.        Will Ferrell – ‘Kicking and Screaming’ and ‘Bewitched’. It won’t ruin his career, but they were no
‘Anchorman’ or ‘Elf’.

6.        Was that USC-Notre Dame great or what?
            a.        Somebody tell me if it’s illegal for Reggie Bush to push Matt Leinart into the end zone at the end?
            b.        I also think Brady Quinn is going to be a good player.

7.        Would you have pitched to Albert Pujols? You know they would have walked Barry Bonds in that same
situation.
            a.        Is anybody watching anything other than the 9th inning in any of the games since neither the Red-
Sox nor the Yankees are in it?

8.        As much as I love fantasy football. It would be nice to watch games on Sunday for once in peace without
worrying about your player’s stats or them getting hurt.

Some fantasy football random thoughts:
1.        Even though I was embarrassed by Marc and put up a pathetic showing last week, you have to give me credit
for not playing Dillon even though he was ‘active’. I just knew from history, from having the guy on my team for 3
years, that he wasn’t going to play the whole game or at all. Give me some credit for that.

2.        I hate how some people make trade offers. I’m not going to name names or say anything specific, but there is
a difference from not being interested in trading and just flat out proposing a trade that is a complete slap in my
face. At least make a fair offer. If this is a truly competitive and fair league, don’t try and rip people off. A trade
should benefit both sides.

3.        Who would you consider the #3 fantasy player right now? LaDanian and Shaun Alexander have completely
distanced themselves from every other fantasy player right now. But Priest? Peyton? Randy Moss? T.O? Edgerrin?
Willis? Chad? Holt? There is no clear cut #3 player right now. I’d feel bad for whoever loses out on the top 2 picks
next year and ends up at #3. Well, not that bad.

4.        Has there been any year in recent history that had so many RB committees’ where both players have been
productive fantasy wise. Denver (Bell and Anderson). Cincinnati (Rudi and Perry). Carolina (Davis and Foster).
Pittsburgh (Parker and Bettis). NYG (Barber and Jacobs). Atlanta (Dunn and Duckett). And to a lesser or unknown
degree: Miami (Brown and Ricky). St. Louis (Jackson and Faulk). New Orleans (Smith and Stecker).

5.        Why does Kevin Curtis get no love in the fantasy projections? I mean 3 and 4 points each week.

6.        Does it bother anybody else that not everybody votes on all the games each week? Some matchups have 5
votes, some have 7 votes. I guess I can understand only voting for your own team. But I like to vote on all the games
just for fun.

No ROFFL team updates this week. Who cares right?

Instead, I’ll give you an update of best players drafted and selected off the waiver wires. Otherwise known as this
year’s surprises so far.

Santana Moss – All he needed was someone who could throw him the deep pass. Guess that wasn’t Pennington.
Terry Glenn – Is this 1996 or 2005? One of the few highlights for Sherm so far.
Joey Galloway – Notice all the names on the list are speedsters.

Chris Perry – No wonder the Cincy fans lover him.

Carson Palmer – We all knew he’d be good, but leading the league in TD’s.
Eli Manning – So good, Rich traded away McNabb.
Mark Brunell – All he is missing is Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell lining up out wide.
Drew Bledsoe – Can he make Peerless Price a fantasy factor?

Jeremy Shockey – Finally backing up all that talk.
Ben Troupe – Hey I was right about Norm Chow on one player.

Neil Rackers – Can a kicker be so good that you would trade for him?

Indy Defense – What school did Freeney go to?

Good luck to everyone this week!!!
