October is a big birthday month for the ROFFL.

We have Dave, who had his big day on October 5th, 1980.

Parker, whose birthday is on October 14. Happy 28th big guy.

And Rich, who celebrates his 27th on the 27th of the month.

So a happy birthday to these three good looking guys (happy belated to Dave).

I think the bullet point structure has been working the last few weeks, so I’ll keep with it.

1. My new guilty pleasure is the “Pageant Place” reality show on MTV. Basically, they put the Miss Universe, Miss America, and Miss Teen USA winners
in the same apartment. And just follow them around. It’s not a great show, but those of you who read my draft bio will remember that Miss Universe (Riyo
Mori) from Japan was on my list of women.

2. Who watched Friday Night Lights? I thought it was a good episode. But I fear the creative minds behind the show are doing too much to ratchet up
the drama (killing a guy and dumping the body) to get ratings. It reminds me of another great show that received critical acclaim, but suffered from poor
ratings: Scrubs. In my opinion, season one and two of Scrubs were the best. Then in an attempt to get more ratings, the show amped up the ‘sex’ factor.
So the women on the show starting dressing skimpier. Everyone slept with everyone else. They brought in sexy guest stars. And although it was still
watchable, it hurt the show. It ruined what made it so great in the first place. I fear the same thing is happening with FNL, but instead of upping the ‘sex’
factor, they are upping the ‘melodrama’ factor. Just my opinion. I’ll still watch though.

3. Who heard the new Jay-Z song from the upcoming ‘American Gangster’ album? I believe the song is called ‘Roc boys’ and it is insane (there is even
a shoutout in the song that the Jewish contingent of the league will appreciate). That album is going to be as good as the movie. And that movie will be
the best movie of the year.

4. Was that MNF game not the most insane game ever? I thought Folk was going to miss that second kick. But I think he actually hit the same mark on
both kicks. Just amazing.

5. I took Jay’s advice in his last “WGLPT” column and watched ‘Reaper’. Good show. Funny and action packed. Am I the only one who thinks Missy
Peregrym is hot? She was in the gymnastics movie ‘Stick It’ and had a recurring role in ‘Heroes’ last season (she was the shapeshifter). She’s also
currently dating Ben Roethlisberger.

6. So the ALCS is Anaheim vs. Boston and the NLCS is Colorado vs. Arizona. Can you say boring? My pick is Boston vs. Colorado in the World Series.
With Boston winning it all again.
      a. I wish it was Yankees vs. Red Sox and Mets vs. Cubs. I would have loved to see those two series. And my guess is so would half the
      nation. And the Fox Network.

7. My new favorite girl of the moment is Olivia Wilde. Look her up. Her eyes are so seductive. Not that I forgot about you Blake Lively and Riyo Mori.

8. I guess we aren’t going to homecoming, huh, fellow retired Orangemen from the class of 2002?

9. I think we were all right about ‘Caveman’. The show dropped 20% in the ratings in its second week. I don’t see many more episodes airing before
cancellation, so if you’re a fan, enjoy it while it lasts.

10. Another reason to hate Derek Jeter. He’s dating Gabrielle Union.

11. Did you know Scarlett Johansson is dating Ryan Reynolds? Jay Cantor must be pissed. (I know what some of you are thinking – what is this US
weekly? The answer is yes it is. It’s ROFFL US Weekly.)

Football thoughts:

1. I guess I was wrong about Derick Mason. The guy is going to catch 110 balls. Great draft pick by Josh.

2. I guess Romo isn’t quite elite yet. You would never see Peyton or Brady have a game like that. Although, I do respect how the guy fought till the end
and led the comeback. I think he’s still the 3rd best QB in fantasy right now. Still a great pick by Rich, considering Parker and I went with Cutler and
Rivers ahead of Romo. In a way, Romo fell to Rich.

3. Brady just might challenge Peyton’s TD record. This week’s prime matchup between Dallas and New England should be fun to watch.

4. Remember when people were mocking Chris picking up Kenton Keith during the first Thursday night game. Well after his 27 point performance last
week, I don’t think anybody is laughing anymore.

5. Shaun Alexander is not the same player he was in 2005. I feel bad that Rich wasted a high draft pick on him last year. He hasn’t gotten a great year
out of him yet. I wonder if Rich will keep him again next year.

6. Navid definitely has a knack for picking up and taking advantage of the guys people foolishly drop. Last year was Maurice Jones Drew (amongst
others). This year has been Patrick Crayton.

7. Jay does have the magic touch with kickers. I think Nick Folk is this year’s Robbie Gould.

8. I’m surprise Jarrett has been able to stay in contention with no help from his 2nd RB, an injury to his highest performing WR (Boldin), and
underachieving seasons from his other two WR’s. I think he might still have a chance to make the playoffs, lose in the first round, and finish in 8th place
again.

9. Beware of Nick in the second half of the season. Bold move by dropping Vincent Young, but I’d go with Matt Schaub the rest of the season anyway.
Schaub is legit. (Sidenote: I heart Nick. The guy picks me to win every weekend. That’s love. And you all think we hate each other.)

10. If Travis Henry does get suspended, then Dave’s team will be in trouble. Dave has had a rough season and very little has gone right for him. But I
hear his bachelor party is going to be the shiznit.

11. Gregg does not have a backup QB that plays (he has Brady Quinn) and Peyton is on the bye. Somebody tell the man he needs to pick up a QB this
week.

12. Talk about a run of bad luck. Parker went from having the best RB combo to having them both injured. On the plus side, I heard he was on some TV
show. I didn’t watch, but I read about it on the message board.

13. Scott Watson, we have a Maurice Jones Drew sighting. You can breathe now.

14. I think Marc has something good in Vernand Morency. The guy is good for five catches and decent yardage each game. Watch.

15. On another note, Cedric Benson plays like a girl. The guy runs out of bounds instead of fighting for extra yards. I watched him on Sunday night vs.
Green Bay and all I could think was “I was right. He’s a bust.” But instead of “Sorry, Jay” I have to now say “Sorry, Marc”.

16. I still believe in Jason’s team. He’s got very good WR’s. LaDainian will play better. He just has to figure out whom to play at QB. Cause Brees ain’t
cutting it.

17. You all can thank me for taking down the mighty Brockman. Why? Because the man is going to go 12-1. Mark it down. I guarantee it.

18. I really like the picture Marc has on the website. The three 4-1 team owners in a picture together from draft weekend. Very fitting. Although I would
have liked to see Marc find a picture of the ten 2-3 teams. And have the ten of us standing left to right in order of highest point total to lowest. Now that
would have been impressive.
      a. Question? If Brock, Rich, and Josh win out and finish with 12-1 records, does that picture stay up for good?

19. What an amazing pickup by Marc last weekend. Kris Brown was the pickup of the week. 23 points from your kicker. 23 points. From your kicker.
Wow.

20. Marc never ceases to amaze me. The guy has everyone’s winning percentage for the first and second half of the seasons, in addition to everyone’s
record by week. It almost makes up for the fact that Marc refuses to let me meet his new lady friend. All because I have Calvin Johnson.

21. This has been a weird fantasy season. Lots of injuries. Lots of busts. Very few picks have panned out.
      a. Brady is the best QB so far. Great keep by Brock (especially considering he was thinking of taking Thomas Jones instead).
      b. I’m officially worried about LJ. Although his 2nd half schedule gets a lot easier, I just haven’t seen the 2006 LJ yet.
      c. LaDainian is going to have an insane ten week run right now. Just watch.
      d. Steven Jackson will not play until week ten. Mark it down. His bye week is on week nine. They’ll rest him until then.
      e. Joseph Addai has been arguably the best RB so far this season. But the way Kenton Keith performed last Sunday; I’m left to wonder
if Addai is that good or if anyone can succeed in the Indy backfield.
      f. I think Drew Brees is not even playable. What a colossal falloff?
      g. Same goes for Marc Bulger. These two guys are going to be steals in next years draft though. I predict both are taken in the 10th round in 2008.
      h.  Plaxico Burress is the 2nd best fantasy WR now. What an amazing start. The guy is going to have 15 TD’s this year. Jay made the
right pick going with Burress over some of the guys with more potential.
      i. Marc, sorry I told you to keep Lee Evans over Clinton Portis.
      j. Jason. I’m just sorry.

I think I’ve taken enough space on the website this week.

Happy birthday to the October boys.

Good luck to everyone this week.
