GREGG MOORE IS THE OLDEST MAN EVER (IN ROFFL)!!!
Happy 30th birthday to Gregg “G-money” Moore. I hope you all remembered and sent him a text or email, if you couldn’t call. Good luck this week Gregg.
SHIPPING UP TO BOSTON
As most of you know, a small group of us (Marc, Jason, Jay, Brian Sherman, Brock, and myself) went up to Boston this past weekend. I like to consider
this one of the longest trips ever for a booty call. But booty is booty, nonetheless. So who am I to say anything? Here are my observations from the
weekend.
- I truly enjoy these little road trips that we go on. Whitewater rafting was a blast, so was the 2 AM drive up to AC, and now Boston. I feel like we
have a nice thing going here and I look forward to any trips that the future holds and extend invitations to those who have yet to experience the
fun. You guys don’t know what you are missing out on. I think Brian Sherman said it best, the group works because we all bring something
different and unique to the group.
- My favorite parts of the trips are always the drive up. The random jokes and arguments that occur are always classics.
- Chris Brockman is a very good dancer. He would make a great wedding guest. So keep that in mind all of you when you do your invites.
- If Jason Sherman went to therapy, then he would have just made a major, potentially life altering discovery this past weekend on why he has
problems.
- Jay Cantor apparently can hook up with girls across state lines, because he has a 30 mile penis. Sorry to break it to you Jay, but that doesn’t
even reach me in Long Island.
- Everybody go onto cafepress and buy your ‘Vaj Deegan’ T-shirts. Limited time only.
- Brian Sherman has a thing for waitresses at chain restaurants.
- Although some people may believe the quintessential “Boston” song is ‘Dropkick Murphies – Shipping Up To Boston’ (Departed Soundtrack). I still
hold firm in my belief that ‘Boston – More than a Feeling’ is required listening.
- After a night of drinking, Marc Epstein likes to say random comments that are supposed to be funny, but can be misconstrued to be offensive,
thus leading to potential fights. I’m surprised Marc hasn’t been in more fights by now.
FOOTBALL IN CENTRAL PARK? NOT THIS WEEKEND:
- Monday night was a nerve racking night. Not only was that a ridiculous ending to the game (I thought Dre Bly just gave up, he could have at least
tackled Jennings, but Bly just stopped running). But the three games that went into Monday night went down to the wire. Jason would have been
screwed if the Packers kicked a field goal in OT (Nick had Mason Crosby). Jay got the best of Gregg thanks to Favre. And my game with Navid
really went down to the last minute (Lucky Number Selvin). Throw in the game between Parker and Josh that was made much more interesting
with Jennings 82 yard touchdown and you have half the league that did not go to sleep early that night.
- Everybody who went to the Boston trip won this weekend (Brock, Marc, Jay, Jason, and myself). Three of them, winning on said Monday night
game. I think we need to make another trip ASAP.
- I would like to publicly thank Marc. Without his blackberry/phone, I would not have been able to bench DeShaun Foster last minute and replace
him with Selvin Young. This happened at 11AM in Boston at the local IHOP. Technology, you got to love it.
- Ok, who had Week Eight in the Dave Allocco Fire Sale Pool? Was it Nick Serrano, again? That guy wins everything.
- Chris Brockman is going 12-1 this year. I know he hates that I say that and he thinks I’m jinxing him, but I’m predicting a week ten win (even with
Brady and Moss on a bye) over Gregg.
- Rich has made some nice waiver pickups the past few weeks. Chris Henry (RB – Titans) has potential and I think Echemandu will be Wali Lundy-
esque.
- Despite losing two in a row, Josh’s WR seem to picking things up as of late. Maybe they aren’t weaknesses anymore. Who would have thought at
the beginning of the year that his RB’s would be bigger concerns this far into the season.
- Jay Cantor is a lucky son of a bitch. There I said. It had to be said. Any other week, he would have lost, but he gets to play a team that scores
only 59 points. I like the Ryan Grant pickup. I think he could be Samkon Gado-esque or at least Derrick Ward-esque. And way to plan ahead and
snatch up Chris Henry (the career criminal – seriously, what other team would he be on than Jay’s?) and have him sit on your bench. I think Henry
will make a nice play during the latter weeks of the season.
- I think it’s fair to ask who is Jarrett’s number one RB; LenDale White or Marshawn Lynch. I personally think it’s LenDale White now.
- Who wants to bet money that Navid picks up Anthony Gonzalez, then we all watch as Marvin Harrison is placed on IR for the remainder of the
year, and Gonzalez goes on a Drew Bennett-esque tear during the playoffs.
- I really like Jay Cutler the rest of the way. With Tony Scheffler back from injury, Cutler now has a few weapons. Just wait till Javon Walker decides
to make a 2007 season appearance. Parker will be very happy he took Cutler if he makes the playoffs.
- If Drew Brees is truly back, then Shermtanks will be a dangerous team. I think his team has fought through some bad weeks and injuries from his
star players, but now things appear to be falling into place (Vernon Davis is back and catching TD’s, Brees is throwing for 300+ with no INT’s,
Willie Parker is scoring TD’s instead of Davenport).
- Nobody ever gives Gregg much credit (just read what I write about him and Jay’s rankings for proof), but I will say this much. For a guy who pays
attention about half as much as the rest of the league (not including Dave), Gregg always finds himself with a winning team and a playoff spot.
Just imagine if he had the time to scour the waiver wire and make trades. He could be competing with Chris and Rich for the top spot.
- I have nothing to say about Scott Watson. Maybe because his team is boring and has too many Redskins. Or maybe because I’m still upset I lost
to his team last week, because he poisoned my ribs. Or maybe it’s because my record against him is 0-6, you know in case you haven’t spoken to
Marc lately. Actually, it’s all of the above.
- A big win for Marc. For anybody that is around Marc when he wins, he becomes a much different person. Loud, obnoxious, aggressive. Wait, no,
that’s the same Marc as always. The only difference is Marc does jumping jacks and screams from the rooftops, “I won”. BOOP…
- I don’t know when I play Nick. All I know is that will be the week that Bernard Berrian scores 4 TD’s, Michael Bennett scores 2 TD’s, and a player
yet to be picked up will have a career day.
- I truly hope Dave doesn’t get to TB. If he does, he just might give up entirely. He’ll go to the draft and just pick names out of a hat. I mean, it’s
already getting bad enough as is. In all seriousness, the guy is really busy. So, let’s cut him some slack. None of us want to be the first guy to get
the TB twice.
Good luck everybody.
Pats by 7.
(And I ran out of things to write, right around Scott. Sorry).
