| So I leave for Hotlanta in a few hours. I was in bed, resting, warm under my sheets. Steph was snoring sweetly, when all of a sudden I leapt up and realized that I had not written a recap this week. I thought about not doing it, but how could I let my peeps (that’s you three reading this) down? I can’t - NAY – I WON’T. So you get it short and sweet… Tools Say F*$%! Burress This will not be a recap, but rather a thank you to Chris Brockman. I could have stayed at Blondie’s all night on Monday, drinking beers and killing some all-you-can-eat wings. But you decided to let Manning throw the deep ball to Burress early on, thus putting me out of my misery early. Sure I had a 30 point lead on you, but when your defense get’s to practice beating up a QB on Bledsoe, only to get some real game with Romo – well, you just can’t beat that. Thanks for letting me leave by halftime and catch up on Studio 60. Born Pads Win Apparently realizing that a 2 point lead on someone by games end isn't enough to actually win you the game, Born guaranteed himself an easy and stress free week by beating Five – by 2.09. Sure Born, they can take a sack away from you - you have nine one-hundredths of a point to keep you warm at night. Oh, and Five can thank you too for the Burress play – that helped Manning kill him quickly on Monday night. Special Note to Five: Is Galloway worth this sea-saw on point’s he’s doing? I have him in another league and it is FRUSTRATING. Ballers Jordan A Non-Factor. Literally Someone please start clapping for Brian. The man put’s up an article every week, starts ROFB, talks on the message board, and finds time to date a hottie. But his team, oh his team. For the sixth time this season, his team put up less than 90 points, and for the fifth time it meant a loss. OC didn’t dominate, but big days from Wayne and Westbrook (both over 20) allowed Jordan to take an unexpected day off with no worries. Crabs Win on the Road. I Mean Gregg Was on the Road. So, Yeah. When Peyton scores 38, you better get the win. And no one knows that better than Shermtanks – only this time, he was on the other end of that. Crabs had a great showing with Manning and Ward both over 35, but continued to struggle at the running back level, positing just 8.07 points total. Gregg has holes, but Mr. Trade can certainly plug it. Assuming he stops paying attention to the World Series. Focus MOORE – FOCUS! Jason, meanwhile, didn’t have an awful day, and Tomlinson continues to shine bright. But Willie’s slow day, and Williamson and Jennings lack of contributions this week must be frustrating. Nose Doesn’t Go Century Nose finally failed to cross the golden 100 mark for the first time this year, and that meant a win for the Baltimore D-less Canton FC. We won’t have our first 13 game 100 + team this year folks. Go home, this camp is closed. Canton had a great day, and a lot of help from the NE D (20 points) were welcome. Welker continues to be a monster (one I won’t have to face this weekend), but the injury to Hasselbeck could be a problem for the man from Charm City. Can Anyone Stop Nomads? After four straight wins - three of which he scored at least 135 points – some could argue the Champ is back and we should all be scared. Yep, I’m one of those people. I’m also one of those people who wishes he had Steve Smith and Larry Johnson. And someone want to tell me how TO got 18? I don’t recall him doing much in the game. Sigh. Worms had a decent showing, but if you remove Harrison’s 23 from the equation, you start to see some issues. Poor EJ. He was frustrating for me last year when he would run a lot, but only get a TD every now and then. I can’t even begin to imagine how frustrating this season has been for you Park… Monster Week for Jacobins Dude – If Dallas hadn’t rolled over so easily on Monday night, Jones would have run more and this would have been much bigger. I know I thought before Monday night that Jones/Barber were going to explode for you and put you in the 170’s. Not that 151 is bad. No siree. McNabb is a stud for you this year (risky pick that paid off, and then some). And this week, those guys catching balls were off the chain, including 20+ point days from Moss, Johnson and Crumpler. Nick’s day wasn’t shabby, and his team’s resurgence (like last year… hmmm…) has been very impressive. But no one could beat 151, so don't beat yourself up. PS – The Jones trade seems to be working out, no? Best of luck to everyone this week. Swami, back down to earth at 3-4 this week, will be have predictions entered by Thursday night |
