Shermtanks vs
Baltimore Tools

So Jason turns to me Monday night and says – “I’m pretty much
going to lose to you this week.  A lot of teams on a bye.”  In that
moment, Jason gave away all momentum 2-0 builds for a team.
And Jason – I agree. You’re going to lose.  Brunell and Jacobs can’
t help you.  Not only is my team fully loaded, but I have Portis back.
And he’s playing Houston.  Ooooooh….

PICK: TOOLS

OC Beach Baller vs
Five Second Stare

No matter what I say here, I won’t be able to top Scott’s look at his
matchup this week.  However, unlike his blog posts, I will give you
my unbiased opinion.  And here it is:  Five’s Galloway is back,
Driver is turning into a solid number 1, and Fragile Freddy seems
to be standing on two legs.  Oh, and his Philly D get’s San Fran this
weekend (Gore or no Gore, San Fran’s luck stops here).  As for
OC, Culpepper better find some receivers at home versus
Tennessee, or he’ll have bigger problems then just being benched
on the shores of Maryland.  The Ballers are lit up like a Xmas tree
with P’s and Q’s… if they all play (and hey will) then the favorable
matchups of Tennessee, San Fran and Houston will be enough to
send the water dwellers to 2-1.

PICK: LOOKING GOOD IN OC

Nose vs
Fighting Blue Crabs

Anyone whose ever been to a beach will tell you that a Crab biting
your Nose is not a good thing.  This week, MFBC got some good
news – Johnson will play… and he’ll want revenge on Pittsburgh.
The Nose also got some good news this week – a new job, more
money and a stripper.  So if the man is sitting home all day waiting
for his new job to start, why can’t he pick up a defense?  While I like
MFBC’s team (a lot),  he could face a tough challenge of Boldin,
Holt and Stallworth.  And as much as Johnson’s catches will count,
Nose’s Palmer’s is the one throwing them.  If Nose can pick up a
defense that doesn’t embarrass him, I’m taking the pickers.

PICK: CRABS CAN’T GET CLAWS AROUND
NOSE

Inching Worms vs
Dorfman

A lot of talk on the message boards this week between these two
(finally – where is everyone this year?? GEEZ!).  In a game of
desperation, it’s hard not to take Deay considering the numbers
Dorfman has put up this season.  While I’m hoping Ronnie B puts
up some yards for my Phins, I am realistic on this one and picking
the clear favorite to win.

PICK: WORMS SLITHER PAST DORF
New Jersey Jacobins vs
Born to Run My Mouth

The Battle for New Jersey continues, as Born and Jacobins square
off.  Jaco has dominated the series (3 – 1), but Born may have
magic on his side.  Yes, New Oooooleans returns to the spotlight as
the Saints open the Superdome on Monday Night after missing a
year at home.  While Jaco clearly has the stronger team (McNabb,
Barber, Crumpler), I taking Born in honor of NO’s comeback.

PICK: BORN TO ROCK NEW ORLEANS

Nomads in the Deep vs
Brock’s Bandits

While historically Nomads is the team to beat, I called Brock as the
team to beat for 2006.  And I stand by that.  Rudi has been amazing
this year, Brady is Brady and his WR’s – the Killer B’s – are
uncontrollable.  Nomads meanwhile is suffering, with TO on a bye
(and injured), Steve Smith sidelined (what a bummer after what he
did for Nomads last year), and McNair only providing 12 points per
week.  Gore seems to be the plus, but can he hold up against Philly’
s D this week?  If Brock can beat out Nomads, this could be the
beginning of the end for Two Times.

PICK: BANDITS BEAT DOWN NOMADS

labor power vs
Canton FC

In order to help his team, Nick is headed to London first thing
Saturday morning.  This week will be his first test of the
“International Play.”  If he succeeds, if would be the second knife in
Canton’s back in a row.  labor should see solid days from Dunn and
Jones (if six hours later), while Canton will personally watch the
Ravens go 3-0.  While my gut say Canton (and I do love my gut), I’
m going with my heart and wishing Nick safe travels and good luck
in school, the only way I know how:

PICK: CANTON labors ON THE FIELD, BUT
CAN’T WIN
