Brock’s Bandits vs
Baltimore Tools
A lot of talk about luck this week. I’ve had some. Brock’s had a lot.
This week thought, without Benson and Bruce, I think his luck has
run out… again. Luckily, my one bye this week – my D – forces me
to play the Phins, who are taking on the 1-5 and very vulnerable
Packers. This should be a solid week for me. No big smack talk,
just a solid win.
PICK: TOOLS
Born to Run My Mouth vs
Five Second Stare
Five may be the only man who can win a game – five day’s after it
is over. Hmmm… a lot of five’s there. This week he gets Born, who
is in a vulnerable state at 2-4, and in desperate need of a win to
get back on the horse. Sadly, he continues to lack depth at the RB
position, starting Rock Cartwright in the number 2 position…. And
the number 1 RB? Cadillac… against Philly. Uh-oh. Five is in a
better spot, with Bulger, McAllister and Benson on a bye being
replaced by Farve, Droughns and Freddy T. I like Five’s chances
this week and think this could get ugly…
PICK: FIVE GETS WIN BY END OF WEEKEND
Dorfman vs
OC Beach Ballers
On the other side of the Five win, is the Dorf loss. After clawing his
way to a 3-3 start, a last minute correction slips him to 2-4 and now
in a bigger fight for first. This week he gets OC who, with two
losses in a row, is looking for a win of his own. OC starts a full
squad this week, with Plummer, Moss, Coles, Wayne, Westbrook,
Jordan, Feely and the Jet’s D (vs. Detroit). The squad looks good,
and if Westbrook can get his knees moving, this could be just the
beginning for OC. As for Dorf, we’ll… same ol, same ol. And I do
not like the look of Gradkowski against Philly. Sorry D… I hate to
pick against you…
PICK: NO DORFS ON THE BEACH
Fighting Blue Crabs vs
Shermtanks
Let’s go Crabs! Crabs are my favorite 2-4 team and I think holding
the best cards for the future. I mean look at those first four names:
MANNING. WARD. BRANCH. JOHNSON… it’s the rest that
bothers me. Jamal takes the week off and DeAngelo Williams is
injured leaving the starting running backs as Julius Jones and
Corey Dillion….ssssssss backups. Now Sherman on the other
hand is starting a full roster that includes LT against KC, and Willie
against Atlanta. Not overly favorable matchups, but decent none
the less. The one question mark: Can Rivers keep up his winning
ways? Maybe. But let’s see how he does against former Tank
Manning. Sorry Gregg – love the team, but the Tanks are taking it.
PICK: TANKS CRUSH CRABS
Nose vs
Canton FC
Tory Holt and Steven Jackson…. will not be playing this week for
Nose. But their backups look good: WR’s Boldin, Johnson and
Stallworth, and RB’s Dillon and Arrington. On the other side of the
ball, Canton’s huge playmaker – The Baltimore D – is having an off
week. Great for Josh, bad for Canton. Luckily, he’s prepared with
NE against JP Losman. I could stare at these two all week. Sadly,
one has to lose. In our OTHER 4-2 vs. 4-2 game of the week, I'm
taking Nose in a VERY close one.
PICK: NOSE ROCK CANTON
Inching Worms vs
Nomads in the Deep
Dare I say anything about an unfilled roster position, just a day
before game time? Last time I did, I got ripped in the press (ok,
message boards - tomato, tomato). But here we are: With Horn,
Berrian and Bryant taking the week off, Fitzgerald injured, Worms
has an unfilled spot open. The question more than who is going to
fill the spot, is who is Worms going to drop TO fill the spot?
Speaking of the letter T and O, Nomads is riding that horse to a
three game winning streak which has pushed him from the bottom
of the pile to the top of the pack. This week JOEY HARRINGTON
(yeah PHINS!) gets the start for Nomads, which may be the only
questionable start on the team. Could be worse: Could be Kitna
getting the start… OH… sorry Worms…
PICK: NOMADS ENJOY A WORM DINNER
labor power vs
New Jersey Jacobins
I love Nick. He takes a licking and keeps on ticking. And then, after
bashing upon bashing upon bashing, after being “Gross,” he posts
150 points. Read it again: ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY POINTS.
That’s just impressive for anyone, let alone a team that is winless.
Sorry – WAS winless. This week he upgrades his team with the
return of Delhomme, and faces a tough challenge in the Jacobins.
NJJ is a strong team, and could see solid showings this week out of
McNabb, Jurevicius, Jones and Barber (both appearing on MNF).
labor will have the lead after Sunday night, but Jacobins take it after
Monday. Sorry Nick - you'll have to continue to prove to me that
have the goods till I pick you...
PICK: JACOBINS WIN IT ON ESPN
