Brock's Bandits vs. Baltimore Tools
I’ll win. I have to win. Sure he’s outscored me by 100 point in the first two
weeks. But this is my week. Evans will snap up. Green will throw less INTs.
I’m coming for your Brock. Post 140+ and I’ll still bury you!
PICK: TOOLS
RandomThoughts vs. Five Second Stare
Is it time for the ROFF Columnists to do battle again? Brian is in big
trouble this week because if he loses, this will be his second year starting
0-3. A loss for Cantor means he’ll start the season 1-2 for the second
year in a row. The difference with matching years is that Cantor pulled off
a Championship, while Yeung pulled off the Toilet. One last historical
comment: These two have a weird, wild history of close games. In a Week
7 matchup in 2002, Yeung took the win by 1.48 points. In 2004, Cantor
pulled off a 136.41 – 136.38 victory (0.03 difference). And in 2006,
Cantor won again by less than half a point, 79.71 – 79.26. So what will
2007 hold? My guess: Another Cantor victory.

THOUGHTS
New Jersey Jacobins vs. BushMaroney'07
Ah, the Jersey boys. I love rivalries when they match-up so well (Jew Bowl;
Battle of the Columnists; Sherman\Navid). What’s to say? Yet again,
Lukin has owned this match-up, beating Dave every year by 2003. That
year, Dave and Josh ALSO met in the playoffs. The results? A Caracas
win 123.62 - 74.66. So Josh wins the regular season and Dave gets the
playoffs. Seems fair. This year, the two meet again and they both have
some question mark: Will Reggie Bush bounce back? Will McNabb start
moving those feet? What’s going on with the Miami D? With history on his
side and some favorable match-ups, I’m taking Josh.
PICK: NEW JERSEY BUSHES
anti-trust vs. The Next Google
Ah, the anti-trust versus the company that will take over the world. I think I’
ll take Scott in this just for that fact alone. Ok, fine – I’ll look a little
deeper. Portis, Welker, Moss… versus Young, Wayne, Berrian, Caddy
and Wynn (WYNN!?). Hmmm… Still Google.
PICK: GOOGIE!
Shermtanks vs. Nomads in the Deep
Here we go again. We all know the history, but lets recap (after all, its
what I do best): Sadri has a 3-2 lead over the Tanks, outscoring him by a
total of 126.44 points over the last five years (thanks in part to a Week 12
163.64 – 88.50 beating). But they’ve also met twice in the playoffs: ROFF
Bowl 3, where Tanks lost by a mere 11.73 points, and in last years semi-
finals, where Tanks suffered a 21 point loss. So here we go again: Tanks
have a lot of reason to want this one, thanks in part to a very slow 0-2
start. But like every week, Yahoo thinks they have over 100 points in
them. But Nomads does one thing really well – they win. This week he
has the challenge of facing some very tough defenses in Philly, Pitt and
Minnesota. Look for Tanks to capitalize on Brees against Tennessee, and
Parker at San Fran (or I am trapped in 2004 when these d’s were bad?).
Slight edge to Tanks this week.
PICK: TANKS ROLL OVER THE DEEP
Born to Run My Mouth vs. Fighting Blue Crabs
Born vs. Crabs. Seriously, what a boring match-up this has been through
the years. The most exciting game was when Rich scored 169.75 in a
week 1 crushing in 2004. Since then it’s been all Gregg, with back-to-
back wins. Where is the rivalry? Where is the excitement? Where is the
passion? Gone, daddy, gone. So PLEASE tell me that 2007 is looking like
a grudge match of epic proportions! With such great games this week,
this HAS to be good right? Wait, what’s that you say? They both have had
two 100+ point games and that last week they both eclipsed 130? What’s
that? Gregg is 2-0, while Rich should be (anyone who scores 136 should
be a winner)? So this week posses some potential big days (Manning at
Houston) and some slow days (Romo at Chicago). Look for Kiss to
maximize McGahee and Alexander against two soft D’s for the win.
PICK: KISS SOFTEN CRABS
Hungry HorsesNose vs. Nose
NAAYYYY versus BLOWWWW. It’s going to get muddy up in this joint!
Blass is currently riding a three game win streak that could extend into this
week. With Manning healthy, Steve Smith playing Atlanta, and Horses’
Westbrook potentially limited, it could be a breakout week.
PICK: NOSE IS BIGGER THAN A HORSE
