After two weeks, my prediction is looking pretty solid. Worst to
first, but with a lot of season left to play. I do like my chances,
especially since I’m leading the league in points, too. However, I
write this prior to Week 3, so when you all read this, I might be 2-
1. But with the other 2 undefeated teams NOT playing each
other, I could conceivably stay in first place after Week 3 despite
a loss. So as they say…that’s why they play the games…
My brother, the original Shermtank, turned 25 this past Tuesday,
the 19th. Unfortunately for him, I can still kick his ass.
You knew this was coming. You just did. For the 9th
consecutive year (or in other words, every year since we were
all going through puberty) the Bronx Bombers have seized the
crown in the most competitive division in baseball. And with
Sheffield and Matsui back, this lineup cannot be topped.
Worried about Giambi? I’m not. He’s got enough time to heal his
wrist before the second season begins. I smell another World
Series victory. I think that smell might even reach to Maine.
Brock…does it?
What a great idea this was last year…lets start a companion
website for our league since we’re all obsessed with ROFFL.
Maybe we’ll put some pictures up, maybe we’ll talk about our
teams. I think it’s become clear that this nice little idea has
blossomed into a full-fledged professional site, and we have no
one to thank other than Mr. Marc Epstein. Sure, some of us
contribute in our own ways, but from the design of the site
(which he did himself, despite repeated offers from yours truly to
help), to the photos, to the VIDEOS (who has videos on their
fantasy football site?!), to the historical information…Marc’s
tireless efforts have made this site what it is – something we
should all be proud of. And if you haven’t checked out his
blog…you should. It’s actually really good.
I just want to thank the temps that I hired from the waiver wire to
fill in while Drew Bledson, Philip Rivers, LaDanian Tomlinson, and
Tony Gonzalez are on byes. Now boys…do your best imitations…

Fuck ‘em.
I received the following two text messages on Sunday,
September 17th:
From: Marc
Drew already fumbled!

Never mind. Bress not Bledsoe.

Dumbass.
The members of the East Side Navels and the Central Park
Brokebacks played football last Sunday and had an audience
while doing so. For the last hour of playing, we all observed an
attractive enough female sitting on a rock just beyond the north
endzone wearing big sunglasses and tight leggings. She was
hot. We all agreed. But we continued playing, and she continued
watching. As we walked off the field, sweaty and muddy, we
observed this girl turn in our direction and continue to watch us
as we recapped the game. We gather our belongings and
prepare to leave the park, and this girl gets up from her rock and
walks away, clearly because we were finished playing. But not
only does she leave, but she makes a point of walking directly in
front of us as she leaves. Now here’s the Stock Down part. NOT
A SINGLE ONE OF US SAID A WORD TO HER. We all saw her look
at us as she walked past. We all agreed that she was watching us
the entire time we played. And none of us could muster the
gonads to even say “Hi”. Not Jason Cantor…Mr. Five Second
Stare. Not Gregg Moore…the happily married man who has
nothing to lose by trying to embarrass his single brethren. Not
Scott Watson, who is secretly a huge ladies man. Not Navid
Sadri, who is so falsely confident that he could have made a
move. Not my brother, who despite his girlfriend, thinks he can
crack a conversation with any girl, anywhere. And not me.
Because I’m a pussy. If there was ever a question whether we
are a pathetic group, this experience sealed it.
G Mo doesn’t ever visit www.retiredorangemen.com. WHY?!?!?
Wow…it’s going to be embarrassing to lose to my second team.
Ouch. (Disclaimer…this statement might look completely foolish
if it’s not posted before Sunday’s games.)
For the third consecutive week…my article sucks. But are the
fantasy G-ds are starting to like me? Perhaps…perhaps.
