QUICK NOTES

| HANDSOME - BALTIMORE TOOLS The first chink in the Tools armor was exposed this past week with the play of Chad Pennington, but I still love Marc's team. He even got lucky with Shawn Alexander's injury. He has three very steady wide receivers and the stud RB. The only question mark (other than depth) is now the quarterback, I don't think Pennington will or can start all season. HOT - NOMADS IN THE DEEP Navid's team received quite a scare with Larry Johnson going down. Now that we know he is healthy, Navid's team is the deepest in the league. It looks like I was wrong about Drew Brees at the beginning of the season. I also like Navid's bench, featuring a good TE in Clark, a good RB in Rhodes, a potential starter in Jones-Drew and the consistent Rod Smith. Don't look now fellas, but I think a three-peat is very possible and if you think I'm just trying to rock the reverse jinx on the Nomads, well, you know. SEXY - BROCK'S BANDITS I'm finally starting to give some respect to the first place team in our league and his nice ass, even though he's 12th in points. The man said it, "he picks winners." And you know what? The motherfucker keeps finding a way to win. So fuck it, good job Brock. He still has two very good backs in Jones and Rudi, the big play wide out (Burress) and the steady wide out (Bruce) and the winner of all winners (Brady). I like the Bryant Johnson pick-up, just not his match-up this week. I can't ignore B-Rock's team no more. GOOD-LOOKING - NOSE Nose vs. Brock's Bandits is the game of the week. I really like the pick-up of Curtis Martin but I have a better chance of suiting up for the Jets this weekend. This means that Jarrett has to pick-up another running back. I also like starting Rex Grossman picking up the Cardinals on Monday night. Does this mean that Carson Palmer is on the trading block? Contrary to beliefs at the start of the season, Jarrett might have the best three starting wide outs in the league and they'll have to carry him this week against Brock. CUTE - CANTON FC Reggie Bush is on pace for over 100 receptions this year. That's pretty insane and considering our scoring system, almost not fair. Throw in the incredible sleeper that is Wes Welker (the 2006 Drew Bennett) and the steady Derrick Mason, Lukin is in good shape. The question marks for Lukin are his third wide out spot and Hasselbeck. Hopefully for Josh, all he needed was a bye week. ATTRACTIVE - SHERMTANKS Thank you Javon Walker. Walker caught some big passes for both the Broncos and the Shermtanks in the 4th quarter this Monday night. Interestingly enough, Jason's great sleeper pick of Greg Jennings has become his best wide receiver. His strength is running back, featuring two solid #1 backs (including the LDT). Might not be too soon we see Phillip Rivers starting in the Land of Camouflage. DECENT - NEW JERSEY JACOBINS Tiki Barber, where were you? A week like that makes you realize Dave's team is even better than you thought. The problem with Dave's team is that he has NO depth at any position except, of course, Tight End. He has two good running backs, the best QB in the league and two very good wide outs. I know it's early, but I think Dave finishes strong and a re-match of last years final isn't so out of the picture. EH - OC BEACH BALLERS WARNING: BULLETIN BOARD MATERIAL!!! I think the Ballers have been the most disappointing team of the season. Now, if the season ended today they would be in the playoffs but I really thought Scott had the best draft and the best team to start the season. But that is why they play the games. I still think there is time for the Ballers to turn it around but that revolves around the legs of LaMont Jordan and the arm of Jake Plummer. Now you gotta assume only half of those things are going to come through. If both do however, watch for the team from Ocean City. NOT INTERESTED - INCHING WORMS The Worms took a bad hit last week. Not only did they get robbed by LDT's backup, they lost one of the best wide receivers in the league for 4-6 weeks. There is no player in the free agent market that can replace Fitz. And this week the bye's hurt PK as his other two best wide outs, and his best quarterback are sitting. I do think that Tatum Bell could really round into form for the rest of the season and be a great draft pick for Parker. I probably should have kept that son of a biatch IF I HAD A FEW DRINKS IN ME - DORFMAN The musical chairs that is B. Yeung's quarterback situation continues. This week it is Bruce Gradkowski over Charlie Frye, Brad Johnson and Alex Smith (seriously, those are the QB's he's been using). But you have to like the potential of the two running backs in Foster and Brown and the sleeper Mike Furrey. Dorfman and I get it on this weekend and let me be the first to say good luck. We've both won 2 in a row, who's momentum will carry through? NOT GOOD LOOKING - FIVE SECOND STARE I'm shipping myself out of the cellar for a moment; though I'm getting raped pretty hard this week by Mr. Bye Week. Before my two pick-ups I had 8 players on bye this week so now I have to rely on guys like Benson, Wade, and Burleson. You know there's a word for this, it's called, "fucked." But I do like the way my team has performed the last two weeks and must give them credit it for it. Thank you Joey Galloway, Marc Bulger, Jeff Wilkens, and Philadelphia's Defense for holding my shit down, can you do it again this week? Thanks. ONLY FOR $1 MILLION - BORN TO RUN MY MOUTH Man has Kiss been screwed by Shaun Alexander. With a good Alexander on his team, Kiss would at least be 3-2. Now he's dealing with the inconsistency of Eli Manning and Cadillac Williams. You do have to like his underdog wide outs (Colston, Housh, and Jericho) and I think they have some big play capabilities. Insult to injury, Kiss plays the most handsome team in the league, who's starting Shaun Alexander's handcuff. Good luck with that. By the way, see you at Mardi Gras. IF I WAS BLIND - FIGHTING BLUE CRABS So far a lot of the gambles that Gregg took at the draft has not worked out. Not picking a running back, taking DeAngelo Williams, relying on Jamal Lewis, Deion Branch and Chris Cooley have not panned out. It's obviously way too early to call his draft bad, but his team has to start picking it up soon. And since Gregg never reads anything on this website, I have no problem saying his team is bad. I WANT TRADES!!! This is like Steinbrenner not firing Torre, just disappointing GROSS - labor power The good news is that I'm still jealous of his position. Oh man do I want to go to London. Wow, it just looks like it's hard to have Kevin Jones on your team. I wouldn't want to deal with that every week. The problem with Warrick Dunn is that he doesn't seem to want to score a touchdown. There are just too many negatives on Nick's team to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But I said the same thing last year and he finished in fourth place. Proof that I haven't a clue what the fucking I'm talking about, as if you needed more. |
