Week 6
Published October 22
QUICK NOTES
  1. I feel bad that Brian had a win taken from him.
  2. I feel less bad that I was the one that took the win.
  3. Next movie reviews, “The Prestige,” and “Borat”
  4. If I could have any accent in the world, I’ll take Michael Caine’s.
  5. New favorite song remains, “I’m Shipping Up to Boston.”
  6. I’m still better looking than all of you.
HANDSOME - BALTIMORE TOOLS  The commish remains on the top of the list with his
strong 134 point effort last week.  And the good news keeps coming for Marc-e Marc and his
funky bunch as Trent Green has been cleared to practice.  With the exception of depth,
which I think is every team's problem; I don't see a single thing wrong with Marc's team.  Roy
Williams over Santana Moss was the best decision he made on draft night.

HOT - NOMADS IN THE DEEP  Last year, Navid has the MVP in our league, Larry Johnson.
This year, he has the MVP in our league, Steve Smith.  By the way, this is a good time for me
to say that I love when B. Yeung writes his Fantasy vs. Reality columns.  They are dead on
balls accurate.  This week is the roughest for his byes as both Brees and Gore take a week
off.  Let's see if Joey Harrington can suck for more than one team on the same day.

SEXY - NOSE The NEW first place team in our league is the J to the B.  Jarrett is the most
hurt by the byes this week as his two best players are both on the same team (Jackson and
Holt).  How in the world does JJ Arrington have more Fantasy Points than Corey Dillon?
Brock, I want to see that article, I've been against return yard points since their inception in
2004.  As for Jarrett's team, yea, it's good.

GOOD-LOOKING - CANTON FC  Lukin's team has been consistently on top of my list for the
first 6 weeks of the season.  He loses some ground because he picked up my kryptonite,
Nate Burleson.  But not only do I like Lukin's team this year, he gets to keep Reggie Bush
and Laurence Maroney next year, that's just fantastic news for this Football Club.  The wide
receivers (with the exception of Welker) is the only weak spot on Josh's club.

CUTE - BROCK'S BANDITS As soon as he makes a believer out of me, he almost gets
doubled up by Blass.  He performed so badly this week that both Brian and myself would
have beaten him.  The struggles have come from the running game as both Thomas Jones
and Rudi Johnson have struggled.  But, as long as both of them are on his team, you can
expect them both to break out of it.  In fact, I'd expect a big week from Rudi Johnson and the
"winner" himself, Tom Brady.

ATTRACTIVE - NEW JERSEY JACOBINS Did you know that Tiki Barber is leading the
league in rushing?  I did.  I like the duo of Barber and Julius Jones.  I used to get on Dave's
case because of his lack of running backs but now it's his wide receivers that are a problem.
After the studs that are Moss and Johnson, he is starting Joe Jurevicius who has a total of 5
catches, 60 yards.  Are you telling me no one can pry Jason Witten away?

DECENT - SHERMTANKS   Despite a strong start, Tanks (II) have lost 3 of their last 4
games.  Though there is no question that he has had some tough losses.  Last week he
scores a buck thirty against Nick's dollar fifty and two weeks ago, with practically his whole
team on bye, he dealt with Marc's 140 point week.  But he still has Parker and Tomlinson (4
TD's!).  Jason has mentioned keeping Brandon Jacobs (I guess instead of Parker) and I
thought he was joking, but now with Tiki's possible retirement, it looks like a strong possibility.
I'd look for the Tanks (II) to rebound this week against G-Money.

EH - OC BEACH BALLERS   The Ballers have lost two in a row and have dropped to a .500
record.  An interesting note looking at the standings, it just seems like the teams are starting
to establish themselves, there are 4 teams that have won at least consecutive games and
they are all in the top 5 and the 4 teams that have lost consecutive games are between 8th
and 11th.  I know that seems obvious, maybe the 2005 Shermtank (II) could have helped us
out with this.  Oh, about the Ballers, he's got QB issues.

NOT INTERESTED - INCHING WORMS The Worms are hurt by the bye this week as PK
didn't have enough wide receivers to fill out his roster.  But I do like the combination of Edge
and Tatum Bell (even though Edge has been a HUGE disappointment).  Every week Parker
has to make the Leftwich/Kitna decision which I think makes life miserable, I know because
last year I dealt with Leftwich/Brooks.  It's been a year of not meeting expectations so far for
Parker as Harrison, Fitzgerald, Addai, Kitna, Leftwich, and Edge have all underperformed.  I
still have faith in this team, damnit.

IF I HAD A FEW DRINKS IN ME - FIGHTING BLUE CRABS  He knew it when he made the
pick, but now Gregg has no running backs whatsoever.  Marc mentioned this in his
predictions, but Gregg is starting two back ups as his #1, and #2 starters.  I just don't see
that as a recipe for a 'W.' The good news is Manning, Chad, Ward, and the emergence of
Branch last week.  He's going to have to win with those four.

NOT GOOD LOOKING - BORN TO RUN MY MOUTH  I have the honor of taking on our
resident hero and I actually like a lot of his match-ups.  Eli on Monday night and TJ on any
night are good bets.  But he does have to worry about his other wide outs.  I like Jericho and
McCardell but they have to score TD's to be affective.  Neither will give you a 10 reception
game.  The Shaun Alexander injury is what is really plaguing this team.  If he doesn't come
back soon, it might be too late for the Mouth from the South.

ONLY FOR $1 MILLION - labor power It's like he was holding it all in the first 5 weeks and
just exploded all over Jason's face.  Let's start looking at his actual team though, Delhomme
has become a good starting quarterback now that Steve Smith is back, Darrell Jackson is a
legitimate #1 and Reggie Brown might be a legitimate #2.  I like the Samkon Gado pick-up
and with Dunn and Kevin Jones, you just never know.  I wouldn't expect to see Nick on the
toilet bowl this year.

IF I WAS BLIND - FIVE SECOND STARE  Just an embarrassing week for me last week.  It
took that kind of performance for me to drop Nate Burleson (FINALLY).  I know that later this
year we'll have to choose our teams MVP and I can tell you as of right now, for me, it's Marc
Bulger.  After a slow start, he has carried my team.  I'm also curious to see how Braylon and
Droughns do after their bye week.  I really need those two to start playing better if I'm going
to have a legitimate shot at or in the playoffs.

GROSS - DORFMAN   This is just where he wants to be.  He can now officially rip his team a
parts with the WGLPT stamp of "GROSS" approval.  What's interesting (and obvious) is that I
put my team in this spot after I lost to B. Yeung this past week.  This week though, Brian isn't
at all affected by the bye week and can now safely start Brad Gradkowski, Doug Gabriel, and
Santonio Holmes and in no way is that depressing.
