ONE IN A LIFETIME
BROCK'S BANDITS
Right now there are only two questions for Chris’s team. One will be answered this week when Brady and Moss go on the bye (I find it funny that four
people still voted for his team to win against Gregg). The other will be what happens if New England goes 14-0 with playoffs, and home field clinched. I
think the Pats will do everything possible to go unbeaten and match the ’72 Dolphins. But is it worth the risk of injuries? Oh yea, and watch out when
New England plays the Jets. You think they’re running up the score now. They’re going to put 100 up on Mangini and Co. for ratting them out on
spygate.

I WOULD PAY YOU TO HAVE SEX (IF YOU GAVE ME ADRIAN PETERSON)
FIVE SECOND STARE
What else is there to say about Adrian Peterson? He’s unbelievable. Arguably the best draft pick in ROFFL history, because Jay will get him for two
more years. And the pick was the last of the first round meaning every single one of us could have had him. LDT being the #1 pick is great, but you
have to have the first pick to get him. That was not the case with A.P. Throw in two good QB’s in Favre and Hasselback (while some of us have none)
and a complete robbery of Marc with the Tony Gonzalez trade (thus eliminating his only team weakness) and we could be seeing another repeat
champ. Kill me now!!!

MODEL MATERIAL
BUSHMARNOEY '07
The QB hasn’t been great. The RB’s have been up and down (although Bush has picked things up as of late). But the WR’s have been nothing short
of amazing. Colston is proving those who whispered of a sophomore slump (myself included) wrong. Greg Jennings is surpassing Donald Driver as the
#1 WR on Green Bay. And the Baltimore threesome is always productive (as long as they don’t play Pittsburgh). We all know Josh’s great record in the
record season. The only question now is can he get over that elusive hump in the playoffs and become the first Syracuse alumni to win the trophy.

HANDSOME
HUNGRY HORSES
It is this simple for Parker. If Westbrook and Addai play, Parker is a threat to score 140. What’s more impressive from his last week showing was that he
put up 140+ with his QB leaving the game early due to injury. His great depth at WR (specifically Bobby Engram) has made it easy to bench Marvin
Harrison. And the Green Bay defense was a great pickup. I just hope that Cutler is ok, because I did praise him last week in my column. If he’s hurt for
a long time, then that would make me a jinx.

HOT
SHERMTANKS
Once at the bottom of the rankings with the lowest point total in the league, Jason’s team is officially dangerous and a team to reckon with. I called them
a sleeping giant at the beginning of the season and I was right. His patience with Brees and Vernon Davis has really paid off. He still has a fairly low
point total having to overcome his early season struggles, but like I said, nobody wants to play his team in the playoffs. Too bad LDT hasn’t played up
to his level of expectations though. I blame Norv Turner and Philip Rivers.

SEXY
BORN TO RUN MY MOUTH
Despite what Rich may say about his team collapsing, I still consider them a serious contender. But his team has fallen off a bit, or at least stayed
stagnant, as the season progressed. So while other teams have started to kick things up a notch, Rich has started to show signs of weakness. One of
them may have been thankfully solved for him, with the crapfest that was known as Shaun Alexander getting hurt. But Chicago Defense has been less
than spectacular this year. And McGahee may be out with a concussion. Outside of Romo and Housh, not much is going right for Rich’s team right now.

STUDLY
NOSE
Ok, so the RB’s are no longer an issue. Lynch and White make a formidable duo that can compete with most of the RB combo’s in this league. But his
WR’s now have question marks. Steve Smith now has David Carr passing it to him, which is never good. And you all know that insurance commercial
with Matt Hasselbeck, where he has all small guys as his offensive line and he ends up getting crushed the second he hikes the ball. Well that’s what I
think Marc Bulger feels right now. And that means he has no time to get Torry Holt the ball. Although, that Priest Holmes pickup may pay off big time. I
would not want to play Jarrett’s team. Unfortunately, I have him this week. Good luck stud.

FINE
NOMADS IN THE DEEP
Talk about an up and down team. Navid has lost three in a row since winning three in a row, and now finds himself below .500 this late in the season for
the first time in three years. Then he loses LJ for the foreseeable future. Yet, things are not all lost. Navid has the best QB’s in the league (although it
must be hard deciding who to play each week). Roethlisberger may overtake Romo as the QB steal of the draft. And Derek Anderson has been the
free agent pickup of the year. Braylon is a top three WR. But his RB’s have been his downfall.

GOOD LOOKING
FIGHTING BLUE CRABS
Not to take anything away from your victory last week Gregg, but it must have been your birthday. That’s the only way to explain some of things that
happened. Jamal Lewis…4 TD’s on 30+ yards rushing? Julius Jones scoring a TD instead of Marion Barber? Enjoy it this week, because neither of
those guys is going to score again this season. It’s called the law of averages. Nonetheless, Gregg has a playoff squad, but will only go as far as
Peyton and T.O. take him, because Chad is not the same player this year.

CUTE
BALTIMORE TOOLS
A very impressive two game winning streak for the commissioner. Sweating out two consecutive victories late into each Monday night. And now the
Tools find themselves back in the playoff hunt with a big matchup against his new roommate this week. His one shining light has been Lee Evans, who
has been spectacular, and those first six weeks of limited productivity are long forgotten. Memo to the league, Evans is a second half player.

ATTRACTIVE
THE NEXT GOOGLE
On the brightside, Washington beat the Jets in overtime. So take that Jay Cantor. F you and Adrian Peterson. Scott’s got Clinton Portis, who appears
to have turned back the clock to his days in Denver. On the downside, Scott just can’t seem to find a QB to replace Delhomme and it’s really hurt his
team.

APPEALING
anti-trust
A big matchup this week b/w old friends, as the loser of the game between Nick and Dave could determine who gets the TB. No matter what, you have
to respect the never say die spirit of Nick. He’ll pick up players and keep talking smack until the seasons over. The man does a great job of picking up
RB’s off waivers. And I wouldn’t discount Nick running the table and snatching up the last playoff spot from some unsuspecting league owner.

AVERAGE, BUT HIS FAMILY IS RICH
NEW JERSEY JACOBINS
Looks like Dave has called it a season. The fire sale is up. He’s already announced who his #1 pick will be next year. But if he wins this week, then he
may avoid that fate. He couldn’t quite overcome the loss of Andre Johnson and Todd Heap. But hey, the Tennessee Defense is really good.

RANDOM THOUGHTS
You know I never like to talk about myself. But I’ll put myself last, so as to not hurt any feelings…

Good luck this week!!!
QUICK NOTES
           1. I would like to thank Jay for letting me write his column. In my eyes, nobody should write WGLPT
but Jay. But I will do my best to live up to the reputation of this great column.
2. NY/NJ Chapter…Football in Central Park this weekend. It’s about time. GET YOUR POPCORN READY!!!
3. I don’t know any unknown songs to recommend you all download, but two sons I do listen to a lot are
‘The Killers – Read My Mind’ and ‘Chris Brown – Excuse Me Miss’.
4. Movie recommendation of the week: “Dan in Real Life”. It’s not laugh out loud funny like “The 40-year old
virgin”, but it is a really good grown up romantic dramedy; with some sad moments, some sweet moments,
and some funny moments. Good acting all around (even Dane Cook was likeable) and the writing was great
(by Peter Hedges who also wrote ‘Pieces of April’).
5. And after five years, I may not be as good looking as the original owner of this column. But with my
braces now off, I’m not that far off…check the picture.

(PS – I’m trying to be positive. So for this week only, everybody’s at least better than average looking. No
below average rankings this week (nobody is gross). But I had to be creative to come up with enough words
for good looking, so some the order may not make sense.)
