December Showers – Part 2

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

- Is Adrian Peterson trying to save his body from a career injury while at the same time screwing over fantasy owners worldwide?

- Ok, so Syracuse’s Eric Devendorf is going to be kicked off the team for hitting a woman. Throwing this out there: What if SHE hit HIM first?

- Gossip Girl spinoff to focus on a young Lilly and Rufus? I’m so-so on this idea.

- Fantastic news! More sex = less stress!

Video of the Post: A look at some of Tracy Morgan’s top moments, including my personal fave: Blackass

December Showers – Part 1

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

- The Golden Globe nom’s are in. My early faves: Slumdog, Sean Penn, Ledger over Downey Jr., Bolt over WALL-E, Mad Men, 30 Rock and Patrick Harris

- Respect to Alec Baldwin (Golden Globe nominee) and his delivery of some amazing lines throughout the years

- Jennifer Aniston. In a tie. Nothing else.

- Here’s a link for a great Newsday article that expresses concern for NBC, a once proud network falling on hard times. So hard, in fact, they’re considering cutting down the number of hours/days they broadcast

Video of the Post: Rob Cordrey returns from obscurity for a new web show, Children’s Hospital on TheWB.com (a lame parody of Grey’s Anatomy)

No Frank?! – Part 2

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

- How the other late night hosts reacted to the Leno news: Kimmel, Conan, Letterman (just the first line or two in the monologue) and Ferguson

- TBS is working on a comedy series called Frat House, an Old School knockoff

- A link to a chat with Jim Boeheim on ESPN (thanks Brock for the link). PS – We’re ranked #13 in the AP poll and #16 on ESPN’s

- It’s been a while since we’ve had a true NFW photo on the blog, so here’s an early holiday present: Here’s a look at Marisa Tomei playing a stripper in The Wrestler

No Frank?! – Part 1

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

- Not too much of a shock: Yanks get CC (did he really think someone was going to pay him more?)

- A look at the NFL’s 10 most underrated players (and yes, Chad Pennington IS on the list)

- Michael Jackson’s glitter glove is going up for auction just in time for the colder months of the year. Just sayin’…

- Following yesterday’s rants, I realized that Leno gets no credit for hosting the #1 late night show. So here’s a look at Jay’s famous guest and jokes to put a more positive spin on this stinker

Photo of the Post: The official season five cast photo from Lost has surfaced (as opposed to the promotional poster I posted a few weeks ago). Note: No Frank Lapidus (the helicopter pilot), no Jin, no Claire and no Aaron.

Zucker Continues to Screw Up NBC – Part 2

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

- My two favorite quotes of the day regarding Leno’s move to 10pm: “this is the clearest sign of the deterioration of prime-time television we’ve ever seen” and “You don’t make this move unless you have a whole lot of holes to fill… this is an indictment of the complete collapse of [NBC's prime time] over the last four or five years.”

- NFL to cut 150 jobs, or 14% of its workforce (We’re pulling for you, Sean)

- The Mets get K-Rod and with him, some much needed help in the bullpen

- Last week Apple has announced that The Dark Knight will close out the year as the most downloaded movie offered on iTunes. Oh and it only came out TODAY – Apple’s figures are based on pre-orders

Zucker Continues to Screw Up NBC – Part 1

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

- Playboy loses the real Hefner that’s been in charge for the last few decades

- Uh-oh… Fat Oprah returns

- Kevin McHale returns to the NBA floor, this time for the “long term”

- As the world hits an economic downturn, our politicians can’t help themselves when it comes to getting a bribe (although isn’t this how they do politics in Chicago?)

Video of the Post: The same day Leno makes a deal to take over NBC’s once coveted 10pm slot, Fallon shows up in his first webisode

Baby, It Is COLD Outside – Part 2

Monday, December 8th, 2008

- Target creates an iPhone app to help with holiday shopping (and Walmart wonders why we don’t think they’re as cool!)

- Beginning tonight, Fallon will start to practice on the web in preparation for a March 2009 takeover of Late Nite

- From Brock: “Ah yes, our home away from home. What a place.”

- Only Fox could accidently show a penis on TV and get away with it

Video of the Post: Here’s the second SNL Viral Video, the more popular of the two (probably because it’s the dirtier of the two)

Baby, It Is COLD Outside – Part 1

Monday, December 8th, 2008

- It’s official: David Gregory to fill Tim Russert’s seat at Meet the Press

- Does ESPN have it’s hands on the next ‘Jimmy the Greek’ (minus the racial slurs, I hope)? Some guy’s scored 25 correct picks in a row…

- I refuse to believe it: A Full House: The Next Generation in the works?

- Fox gives up on Saturday morning cartoons. Cause kids LOVE infomercials

Video of the Post: SNL had two “Must Watch Video’s” of the week, and they both featured Andy Sandberg (shock). Here’s the first (the second coming this afternoon):

Flurries in the Forecast – Part 2

Friday, December 5th, 2008

- Seth MacFarlane crowned the smartest man in Hollywood (Oprah is number 6)

- The NFL continues their world domination. This week: Beating up on poor Charlie Brown

- With Melrose 2 in the works, the CW is starting to think about a spin-off to Gossip Girl (that if they’re even around next year)

- One more Heidi picture to end the week, this time as she takes a shower (don’t scroll down to her nasty-ass toes)

Video of the Post: Nothing convinces gay-haters to like gay marriage more than a group of famous actors participating in a faux-musical speaking out against Prop 8

Flurries in the Forecast – Part 1

Friday, December 5th, 2008

- Even though it’ll be out on DVD in a few days, Warner is re-releasing The Dark Knight into the theatres on Jan 23. Imax anyone?

- Owners of my favorite Vietnamese place in the city MAY have SOMEWHAT been bad owners (d’oh!)

- The end of Bratz? Oh thank goodness for small favors!

- New Yorkers, mark you calendars for another “free burrito” day! (Thanks Emily for the link)

Video of the Post: Some French dude brings Mario Kart to real life (how do people have all this free time?)
